Classic Bodybuilding Review
Classic bodybuilding can be described as the urge in both men and women to build extra ordinary large muscles and this phenomenon started as a mere sport. In the past, contestants would work so hard to acquire the title of “best body builder”. Exercise was mostly used to acquire these results though steroids were used in later stages. Nowadays, steroids qualify one for rapid body building. This is because having a huge physique and muscle mass has become more of a fashion statement than a sporting activity. Many names have been given to body building but let’s concentrate on classic bodybuilding.
Classic bodybuilding is whereby participants choose to modify their bodies using something called muscle hypertrophy.
This simply increases the size of muscle cells by increasing the number of cells. Sarcoplasmic muscular hypertrophy is one form of building these cells. In this process, the sarcoplasm fluid which is found in the cells increases without increasing the muscle size. In myofibrillar hypertrophy, muscular strength is increased by increment of actins and myosin contractile proteins. This fits to describe one part of classic bodybuilding.
Apart from building muscles classic bodybuilding also involves losing body fats, oils and tanning using oils to make them look attractive in front of the judges and the crowd. This applies to those who body build to make an appearance in competitions. In most developed countries this is a highly rated sport and is have federation bodies that govern them. They have rules and regulations standards set for the competitors and while body building they are required to maintain a certain lifestyle and use stated levels of steroids. A strict follow up is made because there are those who don’t have control of the steroids and the result s can be fatal. The classic bodybuilding sporting requires one to be much disciplined.
In classic bodybuilding competitions, the competitors look forward to maintaining both balanced physique and pleasing bodies. They are required to do mandatory poses. They are also required to display their biceps and the judges look at the competitor who has a combination of all these in recommended percentages. The preparation trainings are intense and run from daily to weekly programs. They have cardio and weight lifts programs. This is balanced using a hyper caloric diet that is vital in classic bodybuilding.
Proper diet helps the trainers in classic bodybuilding maintain their energy levels and keep them high as the competitions draw closer the competitors are required to reduce their consumption in water. This is because it’s known that water is retained in the body and reduces the glycogen levels. Also consumption reduction in carbohydrates and sodium is required. There are also strict weight rules observed in classic bodybuilding.
The best thing is that classic bodybuilding has been taken up by women also and they are making themselves recognizable in this male dominated field.
Though there are those extreme bodybuilding sports that they are not allowed to engage in this review looks at the main and general aspects of classic bodybuilding.
